Who is Maggie Wright?

Having worked for over thirty years as a qualified mental health practitioner I possess a sound clinical knowledge of presenting problems and how they can impede and have an impact on individuals lives.

I have an array of clinical experience and have worked in recent years within a primary care setting as a cognitive behavioural therapist.

I have the ability and clinical experience to work with clients using a non judgmental and professional approach based on mutual understanding and trust. CBT is a collaborative way of working on presenting problems with the central aim of increasing the clients understanding, easing distress and working towards goals of change and improvement.

Qualifications

My basic qualification is Registered mental health nurse. In 1995 I completed additional training to gain the post graduate diploma in CBT.

I am a fully accredited member of the British association of behavioural and cognitive psycho-therapists (BABCP). I retain my qualification of Registered Nurse and so am clinically accountable to two governing bodies:

  • The BABCP
  • The Nursing and Midwifery council.

I provide clinical supervision to other cognitive and behavioural therapists.
I take an active part in the provision of CBT education to trainee therapists.
